كنيسة السيّدة - بشرّي

لما ازداد عدد سكّان بشرّي اواخر القرن الثامن عشر، طلب الاهالي والمشايخ من البطريرك يوسف التيّان، بناء كنيسةٍ جديدةٍ في بشرّي، فبنوا كنيسةً على اسم السيّدة العذراء. أوتي بِبَنّائَين من حلب لبناء الكنيسة. سنة ١٨٧٥، عُيِّن الخوري يوسف عريضه رئيس كهنة بشري، وكيلاً على كنيسة السيدة، وقد أضاف الى البناء القديم جناحًا للجهة الجنوبيّة، كما شيّد مدرسة في الجهة الشرقية. مذبح الكنيسة الرئيسيّ أهداه الى الكنيسة يوسف بك كرم سنة ١٨٦٩. كذلك ضمّت الكنيسة مصلوبًا قدّمه الخوري أنطون عريضه الأوّل من مدرسة ميكل انج. سنة ١٩٧٠ بُنيت الكنيسة بشكلها الحاليّ في عهد البطريرك بولس بطرس المعوشي: نمط بازيليكيّ بثلاث أروقة، وزيّنها بالجداريّات الفنّان أسعد رنوّ.

Our Lady Church - Bcharre

As the population of Bcharreh experienced a notable increase in the late eighteenth century, both the local community and the sheikhs approached Patriarch Youssef Al-Tyan with a request to construct a new church in Bcharre. Consequently, a church was erected in honor of the esteemed Virgin Mary. In order to bring this vision to fruition, two skilled builders were sourced from Aleppo to undertake the construction of the church. Subsequently, in the year 1875, Youssef Arida, a prominent clergyman in Bcharre, was appointed as the custodian of Our Lady Church. Under his stewardship, a wing was added to the existing structure on the southern side, and a school was erected on the eastern side. The principal altar within the church was generously donated by Youssef Bey Karam in 1869. Additionally, Father Anton, in his first entreaty from Mikkeleng School, contributed a crucifix that became an integral part of the church. Then, in 1970, during the reign of Patriarch Boulos Boutros Al-Maoushi, the church was reconstructed in its present form—a magnificent basilica-style edifice featuring three aisles. Notably, the gifted artist Asaad Ranno adorned the interior with captivating murals, further enhancing its aesthetic appeal.

محبسة مار سمعان العاموديّ - بقرقاشا

هذه المحبسة المبنيّة في حرف شيرٍ صخريّ، تعود للقرون الوسطى. بحسب البطريرك الدويهيّ بنتها سنة ١١١٢ تقلا إبنة الخوري باسيل البشرّاني على إسم مار جرجس ومار ضوميط، وما برحت وتحوّلت على اسم مار سمعان العاموديّ. يشهد على ذلك كتاب الريش قُريان السريانيّ الخاص بالمحبسة، الذي يعود لسنة ١٢٤٢، وهو محفوظ في جامعة السلامانكا.

St Simon the stylite hermitage - Bqorqasha

The hermitage is built on the slope of a rocky cliff in the holy valley of Qannoubin. It dates back according to patriarch Stephen Al Douwaihy to year 1112 when Thekle the daughter of a priest named Basil of Bsharre built a hermitage dedicated to Sts George and Doumith, that was rededicated to St Simon the stylite. A Syriac lectionary proper to the hermitage, the Rish Qoryan, dating back to 1242, that was discovered and conserved in Salamanca’s university, attests this story.

دير مار يوسف للآباء الكرمليّبن – بشرّي

تعود رسالة الآباء الكرمليّين في منطقة بشرّي إلى أواخر القرن السابع عشر. سكنوا أوّلاً دير مار أليشاع القديم وانتقلوا سنة ١٧٠٤ إلى دير مار سركيس. في ٩ آذار سنة ١٩٠٥، قام الأب سيريل دي سانتا ماريا، النائب الرسولي لجبل الكرمل، بزيارة بشرّي فاستقبله الأهالي وطالبوه بتوسيع الرسالة وإقامة مدارس. بدأ أبناء بشرّي البناء بمساعدات من فرنسا وبلجيكا وألمانيا سنة ١٩٠٨. سنة ١٩١٠ أكمل الأب جيوسيبي داربينو الجناح بناء الدّير والكنيسة، بمساعدة الكاردينال غوتي. الكنيسة كناية عن سوقٍ واحد بحنية نصف دائريّة وسقفٍ بغداديّ. الكنيسة مزيّنة بجدرانيّات للرسّام جرجس ديب الأورشليميّ وتمثل عدّة مشاهد من وحي روحانيّة الكرمل. يُعرف الدّير محليًّا "بالبادريّة" وهي تعريب لكلمة بادري أي الأب.

The Carmelite Convent of St Joseph - Bcharreh

The Carmelite mission Bcharreh goes back to the late XVIIth century. The fathers resided in St Elishah and moved in 1704 to St Sergius. On the 9th of March 1905 the Carmelite provincial Cyril Da Santa Maria visited the town and was demanded by the locals to enlarge the mission and build schools. After that the locals began building with financial help from France, Belgium, and Germany in 1908. Construction was completed in 1910 with Padre Joseppe Darbino who completed the building with the church with the help of Cardinal Gotti. The church consists of a single roofed nave with a semi circular apse. The church is decorated with frescoes by Gerges Dib from Jerusalem.
